With the 160-gram Equipe RSR Bib Shorts S9, Assos started from scratch and re-engineered the platform as a whole—and came away with the lightest, most comfortable race-spec bib shorts to ever leave their laboratory. These bibs are made with Type 701kompressor material that delivers the perfect combination of compressive hold, durability, soft hand-feel, and the lowest weight possible. In other words, the material becomes your second skin, delivering phenomenal structural hold, breathability, and a silky smooth, uninterrupted wrap along the low back and thighs. Assos' new bracing system works together to stabilize the shorts and secure the insert in place. The S9 generation incorporates just two panels, with a primary “butterfly” panel fully wrapping the legs and converging in the rear to form the ergoBox structure. This design effectively frames the insert in place and provides you with an ultra-comfortable wrap that works in conjunction with Type 701 material for the best fit ever produced. The bib straps have also been redesigned using calibrated stretch throughout, with the rear section using a single section of elastic material—folded over on itself—forming an A-frame in the back. It delivers limited vertical stretch in order to add further stability. In the front, the straps are made of a more flexible material, with an antibacterial carbon weave, to lay flat and wick moisture. Assos also focused on a single insert platform, which allowed the freedom to reassess what is most crucial to a streamlined, race-spec insert. They reduced the overall footprint to shed additional weight, employed superAir microShock foam with 3D waffle, incorporated the kraterCooler system to increase airflow up front, and took additional measures to anchor the insert at the rear with a patented horizontal stabilizer. The result? Total ASSOS comfort you’ve come to know and trust, stabilized more than ever.

Engineered specifically for full-gas efforts in the hottest conditions—indoors and out—the 120-gram SUPERLÉGER is built on our S9 platform using hyperlight textiles for unmatched stability and boosted ventilation. BEHIND THE PRODUCT To not only reduce weight, but also increase rider comfort and support during the hottest racing days and flat-out indoor training sessions. We reduced the number of seams and replaced current panels’ textiles with hyperlight, more breathable materials to further reduce friction and keep the leg muscles cooler and fresher, for longer durations.

We took this generational redesign as an opportunity to make the MILLE GT better at the things we loved about its predecessor, including our premium X-frame suspension carriage, a refined comfort waist fit, and a reduction in seams and weight (28% and 5g, respectively). A lightly insulated knicker engineered for cool conditions and long-distance comfort, featuring extended knee coverage and stormproof textiles. BEHIND THE PRODUCT Ideal for those cool fall and spring rides where added knee coverage and a touch of insulation make all the difference, we crafted the Spring Fall Knickers to meet the demands of these variable conditions. The fit lines up with our regularFit design, which means they’re lightly compressive where they need to be without being as tight as our racingFit design. To underscore that aspect, we’ve pre-shaped and sewn the fabric panels to fully wrap and support the upper leg muscles, knees, and calves while in motion.

Without an insert, you can continue wearing your perfectly broken-in bib shorts underneath, which also add extra insulation. We made them lightly compressive where they need to be, but not as tight as our racingFit design. We’ve pre-shaped and sewn the fabric panels to fully wrap and support the upper leg muscles, knees, and calves while in motion, where they flex with each pedal stroke.

The fabric panels flex with each pedal stroke, as they're both pre-shaped and sewn to fully wrap and support the upper leg muscles, knees, and calves while in motion. RX Heavy makes up the majority of the paneling. This brushed warp-knit fabric is a beefed-up version of our workhorse RX, featuring an ECO water-repellent treatment for further protection from light precipitation. Its lighter-weight sibling, RX Light, is an asymmetrical-stretch warp-knit fabric that provides light insulation and boosts comfort in high-flex areas. The fit falls into our regularFit category, optimized for total comfort in the riding position, and with a more relaxed cut than our second skin racingFit.

GTO marks the pinnacle of the Total Comfort MILLE GT line - spiritual successor to the iconic CENTO and Campionissimo Bib Shorts. It features the plushest, most responsive and breathable ASSOS insert to date, wrapped in our new frictionless, wrinkle-free paneling. The GTO has two leg lengths: STANDARD and LONG (+3cm vs standard). BEHIND THE PRODUCT With large-muscle support, friction, and excessive pressure remaining critical issues on long-duration rides, GTO destroys conventional bib short construction formulas. Such is the case with the Werksteam Bib Shorts, tuned for the performance-minded rider and year-round racer who makes no compromises in fit, function, or style.

The UMA GT Women’s Half Shorts set a new standard in on-the-bike comfort and female-specific design. The UMA GT Women’s Half Shorts blend several proven textiles and construction techniques to create a truly unique pair of shorts that are as fast as they are comfortable. Like our high-end Laalalai Shorts, they’re cut from Type.439 Diadema, a fabric chosen for its exceptional stretch, high-wicking, and compressive capabilities. Wind-tunnel tested and using our aerodynamic Fenomeno1 design, these are our some of our fastest women’s cycling shorts yet. The precise fit comes down to the waistband design, where we applied our breathable, ultrasoft Aerofit material at the front, using a fold-over construction that comfortably holds the shorts in place across the abdominals. We did the same at the lower legs, adding a secure, stay-put fit with an asymmetrical hold on the thighs. Compared to our Laalalai shorts, these are 2.5cm shorter in length. And in terms of the insert, we’ve sewn in the lightweight, breathable S7 EVO to deliver targeted support and all-day comfort.
